From April 12 to 22, 2019, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) will implement Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Kuwaresma 2019, in anticipation of the influx of passengers during the Holy Week. All security and safety units are placed on heightened alert status for sufficient 24/7 manning of security and safety services. This will also guarantee immediate response for any untoward incident within the airport during the Holy Week.

There will be passenger help desks at prominent areas within the airport to provide immediate assistance to passengers. These help desks will be jointly manned by MCIAA security personnel, GMCAC customer service executives, airport medical staff, and Department of Tourism (DOT) representatives.

Moreover, we will work to provide passengers access to public transportation. In the event of a shortage of airport taxi services and vehicle rental services, MCIAA will field buses or coasters to serve the riding public.

For concerns and inquiries, please call MCIA hotline number (032) 494-7000 or email

As part of our airport’s general maintenance, the taxiways of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) will undergo an overlay of asphalt, between 9pm to 5am, from April 8 to June 6, 2019.

The work will be done in phases, so some taxiways will be open during the repairs, to prevent major disruptions in the airport operations.

Some airplanes may take a longer time taxiing upon arrival or prior to taking off, as they may have to take a long and circuitous route depending on the phase being worked on.

We are thankful for your support and understanding.
