Balik-Cebu Program at Ayala Center Cebu

The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority General Manager and CEO, Mr. Julius G. Neri Jr., together with Ms. Mary Ann M. Dimabayao, Manager of the Public Affairs Division and member of the Balik-Cebu Committees, joined the official launching of the Balik-Cebu Program on January 07, 2026 at Ayala Center Cebu.

The Balik-Cebu Program warmly welcomes balikbayans returning home for Fiesta Señor and the Sinulog Festival, offering an airport welcome reception on January 15 at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) for both Terminals 1 and 2. A Balik-Cebu lounge was also opened at Ayala Center Cebu, serving as a welcoming space where returning Cebuanos and guests can unwind, reconnect, and stay informed about festival activities and local events.

Now running for over 24 years, the Balik-Cebu Program continues its mission of reconnecting balikbayans with their roots while extending Cebuano hospitality to tourists. The initiative has significantly contributed to the growth of Cebu’s tourism by strengthening cultural ties and enhancing the overall visitor experience.

As the country’s second-busiest gateway, MCIA plays a vital role in this effort, serving as the first point of welcome for thousands of travelers arriving for the Sinulog season. MCIAA exemplifies Cebu’s commitment to providing a seamless, safe, and memorable journey—ensuring that every arrival truly feels like coming home.
