On January 28, 2026, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) proudly welcomed Alpha Aviation Group – International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) with a symbolic water cannon salute and ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially marking the start of its operations as the first-ever flying school based in Sta. Fe,Bantayan Island, Cebu.

The historic event was attended by MCIAA officials, led by Atty. Tani Angub-Gaviola, Manager for Corporate Management Services and Business Development Department, together with local government leaders including Sta. Fe Mayor Ithamar Espinosa, Bantayan City Mayor Alex Layese, and Madridejos Mayor Engr. Romeo Villaceran.
