The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2026 (NSED) held at 3:30 PM on March 12, 2026, in support of the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience.

As part of the activity, MCIAA conducted an unannounced earthquake drill at the MCIAA Corporate Building to test the emergency response and preparedness of its personnel. Officials, employees, building occupants, and the Authority’s emergency responders actively took part in the exercise to assess coordination, response procedures, and readiness during an earthquake scenario.

Through initiatives such as the NSED, MCIAA continues to uphold a culture of safety and preparedness, ensuring that its personnel and stakeholders are equipped to respond effectively in times of emergency.
