In celebration of Women’s Month, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) organized meaningful initiatives dedicated to the growth and well-being of its women employees.
An Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Skills Workshop on shell craft and handmade accessories was conducted by the Mactan Shrine Souvenir Vendors Association Inc., equipping participants with practical, hands-on skills and opening opportunities for additional income and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Beyond livelihood development, the shell craft workshop also served as a therapeutic activity for women. Engaging in creative, hands-on work such as crafting promotes mindfulness, reduces stress, and provides a calming outlet for self-expression. The initiative reflects MCIAA’s commitment to promoting sustainable livelihoods while also supporting the holistic wellness and financial independence of women.
To highlight the importance of self-care, a “Relax & Recharge” Wellness Massage Therapy Session was also held in partnership with the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center of DSWD Region VII, supporting their massage therapists while providing employees with a dedicated space for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
These initiatives serve as a reminder of MCIAA’s continued commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering environment where women can thrive both personally and professionally.
