The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority – Rescue and Firefighting Division proudly announces a significant milestone as ten (10) of its Fire Instructors have successfully earned their ProBoard Certification in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041 – Fire Instructor I, a globally recognized credential that affirms standardized competencies and enhances the international credibility and mobility of fire service professionals.
The training was conducted through COMPASS Safety Institute in Silang, where the participants underwent rigorous instruction, skills evaluation, and written examination. All ten instructors successfully met the standards required for global certification and are now recognized under ProBoard, as certified by the Hawaii Department of Transportation Airports Division on March 6, 2026.
This accomplishment underscores MCIAA’s continued commitment to strengthening its training capabilities and advancing professional excellence in Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF). With globally benchmarked competencies, these newly certified instructors are now better equipped to deliver high-quality, standards-based training that enhances operational readiness and safety across the airport community.
The Pro Board is an internationally recognized accreditation body that establishes uniform standards for fire service professionals based on NFPA qualifications. A ProBoard certification signifies that an individual has met globally accepted competencies, allowing their qualifications to be recognized across different countries and jurisdictions. This enhances professional mobility, ensures standardized training quality, and strengthens interoperability among fire and emergency services worldwide.
