Direct Route Between Cebu and Quanzhou has Officially Resumed Operations
The Cebu–Quanzhou direct route officially resumed operations on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Gate 15, Terminal 2 of Mactan–Cebu International Airport, marking the return of direct connectivity between Cebu and Jinjiang.
The inaugural resumption flight was graced by distinguished guests, including Cebu’s People’s Governor, Pamela Baricuatro; Department of Tourism OIC Regional Director, Gelena Dimpas-Asis; Department of Tourism Director for Market Development, Azucena C. Pallugna; MCIAA General Manager and CEO, Julius G. Neri Jr.; Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation General Manager, Ricia Vinelli Montejo; Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Cebu, Zhang Zhen; Philippine Consul General in Xiamen, Winston Dean S. Almeda; Jinjiang Airport General Manager, Yang Shuanghua; and Xiamen Airlines General Manager, Hu Bin, who all joined the inaugural Cebu–Jinjiang (CEB–JJN) resumption flight.
Upon arrival, the delegation warmly welcomed passengers to Cebu, showcasing renowned Filipino hospitality. The celebration featured a traditional water cannon salute, followed by a commemorative program highlighted by a ceremonial cake-cutting to mark the occasion.
Passengers of the return flight to Guangzhou were also presented with tokens and souvenirs from Cebu as a gesture of appreciation.
The resumption of this route marks a significant step in strengthening connectivity and fostering tourism and cultural exchange between Cebu and key cities in China.
