The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) has officially launched Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2026, which started last March 28, 2026 until April 5, 2026, in coordination with key aviation stakeholders to ensure safe, secure, and efficient airport operations during the Holy Week travel period.

In anticipation of the significant increase in passenger traffic as thousands of travelers observe Holy Week, MCIAA has implemented heightened safety measures and operational enhancements at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

These include intensified security protocols, increased personnel deployment, and strengthened coordination among airline partners, ground handlers, and government agencies.

The initiative is in line with the directive of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to uphold public safety, security, and passenger convenience during peak travel periods.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least three (3) hours before their scheduled departure, regularly check airline advisories, and strictly observe airport security protocols to avoid delays and ensure a hassle-free journey throughout the Semana Santa period.
