The program began with an invocation which set the tone for the event. This was followed by the delivery of speeches from the MCIAA General Manager and CEO Julius G. Neri, Jr, CAAP Director General Manuel L. Tamayo, Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports of the Department of Transportation Roberto C.O. Lim and our guest of honor, Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia who provided valuable insights on the opening of the Santa Fe Bantayan Island Airport Runway and the impact it will bring to the tourism industry in Cebu. After the speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place which was a symbolic moment, signifying the official opening of the runway.
