The Mactan-Cebu International Airport makes history again as the first airport in the Philippines to achieve another globally recognized accreditation from Airports Council International. MCIAA reached Level 1 – Mapping for the Airport Carbon Accreditation.

Julius G. Neri, Jr., MCIAA General Manager and CEO, expresses that this achievement will serve as inspiration for the aviation industry to emulate and adopt similar sustainable practices. “We find ourselves in a fortunate era where advancements in technology and innovation enable us to actively reduce our carbon emissions, aiming ultimately for a net-zero outcome— an opportunity not available in the preceding decades.
