On 22 March 2024, a tabletop exercise was conducted in preparation for the actual NSED. The Public Affairs Division attended the tabletop as one of the vital support roles in emergency case scenarios. The different relevant offices then conducted a dry run of what was to happen on the actual NSED and made some necessary adjustments that seemed best for the success of the drill.

On 25 March 2024, The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) in collaboration with AGMCAC, Office of the Civil Defense-7, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and LLCDRRMO conducted the 1st Quarter NSED in Gate 17, Terminal 2, MCIA. PAD took photos and videos for documentation and social media posting, and facilitated the participation of our media partners who were there to document the drill. The drill commenced at 0900H and concluded at 1100H. The purpose of participating in NSED is to practice and ensure the necessary preparedness measures of MCIA’s airport community in the event of emergencies within airport grounds.
