In line with its commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) successfully conducted a comprehensive Internal Audit Checklist Workshop last May 30, 2025. The workshop was designed to enhance the internal audit capabilities of MCIAA personnel and ensure adherence to government standards and international best practices.
It was attended by key officials, including Assistant General Manager Atty. Glenn B. Napuli, Administrative Department Manager Armando M. Radoc, Corporate Planning Division Manager Gerard B. Montecillo, General Services Division Manager Gina Q. Cane, Medical Division Manager Dr. Raphael D. Fernandez, Dr. Roy P. Alcano, and MCIAA’s Internal Auditors.
Facilitated by Lead Internal Auditor Dr. Elsa D. Bubuli, the session focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to develop robust, objective-driven audit checklists—a critical tool in ensuring organizational alignment with ISO standards and continuous improvement. It highlighted practical strategies and insights that empower departments to monitor compliance effectively and identify areas for corrective action.
Among the key highlights of the event were the formal introduction of the new Deputy Management Representatives: Mr. Gerard B. Montecillo for QMS and Dr. Roy P. Alcano for OHSMS. Their appointment symbolizes a continued evolution in leadership and stewardship of the Authority’s management systems.
MCIAA likewise expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Armando M. Radoc and Dr. Raphael D. Fernandez, the outgoing Deputy Management Representatives for QMS and OHSMS, respectively, for their effective leadership, exemplary service, and invaluable contributions to the agency’s success in sustaining and strengthening its management systems. Their unwavering dedication, attention to detail, and deep understanding of organizational standards played a pivotal role in MCIAA’s continued compliance, improvement, and credibility.
This workshop not only reaffirmed MCIAA’s dedication to quality, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety, but also underscored its proactive stance in strengthening internal systems, cultivating accountability, and championing operational excellence.
